On Saturday 10th June 2017 we are holding our second specialist musical instrument auction at the Alresford Music Festival. You can find more details on our Musical Instrument Auction page.   We are promoting it well in advance to give buyers and sellers the best opportunity to see and sell their instruments and related items.

It is a requirement for submitting lots to this auction that the sellers upload descriptions and photographs to the web site.  It’s a simple and free process.

Lots have to be delivered on the morning of the auction and removed if unsold in the afternoon unless you have reached a prior arrangement with us. Again please see the detailed terms and conditions on the Musical Instrument Auction page.

Please email music@auctionsinaday.co.uk with any other questions.

  1. Squier Telecaster by Fender. Lovely opalescent red body. Plays. Needs knobs, attention to jack socket and strings fitting properly (might be done tomorrow). Made in China. Serial no.CY110501638

  2. Tanglewood electro-acoustic guitar. Model TMO-7W. Plastic back. Bass filter knob broken but still adjustable. Electronics and body in good condition.

  3. Very good quality 1/4 size acoustic guitar (hesitate to say child’s). Made by Valencia est. 1972. Model CG160 1/4. Serial no. 0126139. 18.75″ string length. Currently with standard tuning. Comes with a soft case.

  4. Squier Stratocaster from Fender. White body. Made in Indonesia. Serial number ICS13113311. Includes tremolo arm, instrument cable and strap.

  5. Landola acoustic guitar C-25. Made by reputable Finnish maker in excellent condition. New strings and tuning head overhauled.

  6. Rickenbacker Hollow Body Bass. Copy sort of. Does not match other images of Rickenbacker basses. No serial number. But it plays.

  7. Peavey TNT 150 Bass Combo. Lots of options: Bright, Punch, 10 stage equalisation, low and high outputs, Chorous effect (sounds interesting), Preamp out and direct connection to Power amp. It works but needs a bit of cleaning inside and out. Some electrical noise (which is drowned out by the bass when playing) but the clean and tighten may help. Watch out for updated description.

  8. Marshall 3540 Integrated Bass System Head 2 x 200W which can be joined to create a 400W amp (you always wanted that power) or used to drive bass and mid range speaker cabinets. Not as clean acoustically or externally as on the day Jim made it but it works and is loud. There maybe some improvement to both for the auction. Find out more about this amp on this link (aka read the manual): http://drtube.com/schematics/marshall/ibs.pdf

  9. Liuqin – a Chinese four string mandolin in its case. More details on Wikipedia – Liuqin. Currently tuned as mandolin in G-D-A-E. The raised frets enable vibrato to be applied easily. Wonder if it could be restrung as a ukulele?

In very good condition. Some wear on the sound board. £50-75

  10. Vintage 5 String Banjo: solid back with new strings.
Vellum in good condition. Sounds good to go.
Mother of pearl inlay and bone tuning knobs.
Original case needing new straps. £80-120

  11. Carlsboro GLX-40 guitar amplifier – transistor
Two channels selected from foot switch or panel.
Celestion speaker and unique reverb sound.
    In good working order. £60-100

  12. Höfner 185 “Artist Bass” 1964 serial no. 2186. The serial number means it was imported by the Selmer Company of London. It has twin pickups with on/off switches. Tone and Volume controls for each pickup.

This guitar has been restored and is in good working order. It has a new Höfner label on the head but the rest is original. The solid body does look a bit too good to be true but perhaps it has been sitting a cupboard for 50 years waiting for you! £180-250
