We said it was going to be a bumper auction and it was! 433 lots produced our highest total hammer price. Not only did we have the sellers but we also had the buyers – over 170 of them!

History was made – for the first time in 13 years – we sold out of cake!

We had a fantastic collection of high quality silver items – with an ornate Edinburgh silver coffee pot dated 1879 going for £170 and an engraved silver trophy cup (Barnard 1926) for £215.

Jewellery was popular this month with over 20 gold and silver rings. Valentine’s purchases along with those bears!

Small pieces of furniture sold well plus a steamer trunk and a brass standard lamp for £65.

A collection of Parker pens went for £55, Robertson’s metal badges for £38, a beautiful, early, leather- bound family Bible for £55 and an onyx desk set for £40. Our auction is certainly characterised by its variety of lots!

The auction ended on a high with some quality paintings including a large oil painting of a Polish refugee dated 1832 going for £110 and an oil painting of an aristocratic Russian gentleman going under the hammer for £80.

This month’s auction raised over £650 from goods donated by SAS (Special Auction Services) for Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice in Slough. A fantastic amount for a very worthy charity.

Our next auction is at Itchen Abbas Village Hall on Saturday, 4th March. Please book your tables or floor space now. If you send us photos of your best lots we can promote them on this website.
