Lots needed for this Saturday’s auction at Otterbourne

Otterbourne auction 1 September 2018
Viewing at Otterbourne Auction 1st September 2018

Otterbourne Village Hall is the largest venue that we use. We have quite a lot of lots for Saturday but we would like a lot more. If you have lots to sell please contact Claire on 01962 734941 or by emailing bookings@auctionsinaday.co.uk.

You may remember that last month we had several good quality lots of silver, pocket watches and wrist watches. There were 26 items that sold for £40 or over including an Art Deco silver tea set for £320. You can see the full report here Auction Report 2nd February 2019. IF YOU HAVE GOOD QUALITY LOTS, THERE ARE BUYERS IN THE ROOM WITH THE CASH. One or two of them may have spent close to a £1,000 last month.

You can see what sold well at previous auctions in our Auction Reports

If you are bringing lots for this sale, please upload photos and descriptions of the items on this page. It is not a requirement for submitting lots to the auction but it helps promote the auction in general and your lots in particular.  It is free. So please upload a good quality image and a short description using the comments section at the bottom of this page.

Please read these guidelines for descriptions and adding images of your lots. Your lot(s) have to be approved before they will become visible on this page. Please contact us if they do not appear within 24 hours.

Visitors to this page please note:

  • The auctioneers have not seen the lots which have been added as comments.
  • The descriptions and photos are provided by the sellers.
  • There is no guarantee they will be for sale until they are delivered on the morning of the auction.
  • This is not a catalogue.
  • We normally sell between 350 and 450 lots which all arrive on the morning of the auction.

Do not upload your items until you have discussed them with Claire on 01962 734941 or by emailing bookings@auctionsinaday.co.uk.

Auction Report for 2nd February 2019

Inspecting the pocket watches, watches and silver at Badger Farm Auction - 2 February 2019
Inspecting the pocket watches, watches and silver at Badger Farm Auction – 2 February 2019
Despite the snow and web site downtime this was one of our best auctions since we started in 2003. Thank you very much for braving the weather particularly those coming from the snow fields north of Winchester! Fortunately we only had 315 lots to sell, as the slide show computer had a mind of its own for the first 20 minutes of the auction.

The core of the auction was:

  • A collection of silver which produced the best lot of the day. A Mappin and Webb Art Deco tea set comprised of: tea pot, milk jug and sugar bowl. This sold for £320.
  • A collection of wrist watches including a Longines Flagship Automatic Gentleman’s Wrist Watch lead the way, selling for £210.
  • A large collection of pocket watches and the best lot was Seven Silver Pocket Watches, which sold for £140.

There were 26 items which sold for £40 pounds or over. There was eclectic mix below the £40 mark including prints and paintings, hats, toy trains, furniture, boxes, tape recorders and a WWII Luftwaffe air raid map for August 1940. You can see more of the lots in the snapshots on our Facebook page Auctions in a Day – Photos

Our next auction will be on Saturday 2nd March at Otterborne Village Hall between Winchester and Chandlers Ford. We look forward to seeing you there. If you are selling please book a table with Claire on 01962 734941 or info@auctionsinaday.co.uk .
